Finn Wolfhard’s dream of playing the role of Scott Pilgrim finally became a reality

It is super exciting to see all the old cast of Scott Pilgrim come up again to lend their voice in a new fun, exciting animated series based on Scott Pilgrim’s world.  Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Chris Evans return as their characters. But there is an addition of amazing actors in the series like  Will Forte, Kal Penn, Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Bowen Yang, Griffin Newman, and Finn Wolfhard.

Finn Wolfhard is playing the teenage version of Cera. He shared that this was one of the great moments of his life. In his latest post, he mentions he has been huge of Edgar Wright’s movies and the graphics novel.

Finn shared the poster of Scott Pilgrim on an Instagram post and wrote “The first Blu-ray I ever bought was Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. I remember seeing it in theaters and becoming completely obsessed with it. I read all the books and learned all the songs on bass. The producers who made the unbelievably beautiful and hilarious Scott Pilgrim Takes Off gave me the opportunity to live out my childhood dream. I got to play Scott Pilgrim in a small scene! Finn Wolfhard’s dream of playing the role of Scott Pilgrim finally became a reality.

Scott Pilgrim’s Takes Off producer revealed Finn Wolfhard has been the longest fan of the movie and graphics novel. Finn even showed interest in playing the lead role in the series. The showrunner said,” Finn’s agent called me the second this was announced. I got a call like, 8 a.m, he’s like, ‘I’m Finn Wolfhard’s agent, he loves Scott Pilgrim, have you cast him yet?

Initially, there was not a teenage part of Cera in the series but with bath and fourth discussions, they finally settled on bringing the young Cera. Finn Wolfhard’s part comes in the flashback part of the series.

He also mentioned, “We called back and said, ‘Hey, do you think he’d want to play young Scott?'” Grabinski recalls. “And he said, ‘Yes!’ We had a really really fun session recording with Finn, where it felt like he was having a blast, and I think it’s a great addition to the show.”
